Position: Precision Assembler 3/ Installer

Reports to: Shop Manager/ Production Director

Non-Exempt

Part Time/Full Time

Starting Wage: $20-25.00 per hour

Job Summary: Assemble or fabricate mechanical parts, pieces or products using a variety of tools and equipment according to required specifications in a designated area of production in a manufacturing organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble products in accordance with standard work instructions, MPIs, and prints
  • Tests functional performance of completed assemblies using established procedures and test protocols
  • Operate and set up production equipment and fixtures
  • Ability to understand wiring diagrams and wiring procedures with little supervision needed
  • Assemble products accurately and with little supervision needed
  • Perform quality control procedures with little supervision needed
  • Perform inspections, repairs or reworks of their own and/or others’ work
  • Ensure accuracy of documentation. Initiate basic material requests. Report quality or efficiency issues as needed
  • Maintain accuracy of material transactions and cycle count raw material, sub-assemblies and work-in-progress material on the line. Accurately determine and report shortages to the Production Manager
  • Follow all corporate, regulatory, safety and production policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned
  • Travel required to jobsites
  • Reports directly to the shop manager and production director
  • Assemble equipment using engineered drawings and schematics with no supervision or assistance
  • Be able to train and supervise precision assembler Level 1
  • IQOQ for customers

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic Math Skills
  • Moderate knowledge of general manufacturing
  • Electrical experience a plus

Preferred Experience:

  • Mechanical aptitude
  • 4-5 years experience with precision assembly
  • Ability to understand mechanical drawings and technical writing
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments; micrometers, calipers and dial indicators
  • Work with small groups or on own with little supervision
  • Good interpersonal communication skills

Physical Demands:

  • Using personal protective equipment to perform work when required
  • Lifting and moving products up to 75 lbs. in weight
  • Bending, reaching above the head, kneeling, crouching, and/or stretching during the duration of a shift
  • Pushing and pulling product up to 75 lbs. in weight during the duration of a shift
  • Manual dexterity of both hands and wrists
